Wheel 1 — Science of Divinity: Exploring Indra’s Net

This course is Wheel 1 the Brahmā Vījñāna or Science of the Divinity programme. It is about exploring the phenomenon called Indra’s Net. This is an approach to investigating and coming to an understanding of life’s complexity — the interconnectedness of all things.

Indra’s net is a metaphor used in Buddhist and Hindu schools of thought for the interconnectedness and interdependence of all things in the universe. It describes an infinitely vast net with a ‘jewel’ at each intersection, and every jewel reflects all other jewels, illustrating that a change in one part of the universe also affects every other part.

Curriculum

To learn to explore this, we study three subjects:

  • Dynamic Pranava Meditation: a simple and structured mantra meditation technique, that helps you learn to observe with the three basic energy patterns found throughout the Universe. This will form the basis of our spiritual research technique.
  • Seven basic energy patterns: diving deeper into the subject of energy patterns, which can distinguish between the dominant qualities existing within any phenomenon or relationship.
  • Synthesis: units, parts, wholes: how to dissect complexity into tinier parts for spiritual research, how to apply the technique to each of them and how to perceive their energy patterns.

This lays the foundation for spiritual research as we will be performing it in wheels 2 – 5 of the Brahma Vijnana programme.
