Laya Yoga is the spiritual science of energy. An approach to Yoga, or Union, any serious meditator should acquire knowledge of.
You learn to understand the subtle anatomy, which is the mechanics of our consciousness. You learn about the basic modes of behaviour of energy. You learn about the various energy streams, channels and centers, as well as about others points of influence on our energy system. This is the theoretical side.
On the more practical side of this course, you will learn to clean your energy channels by consciously directing energy. From outside the body into the body and from inside the body out of it. This is introductory to Yogic energy work, or prāṇāyāma. And lays the foundation for a whole series of other exercises taught in the next course, Laya Yoga 2.
Often taught to be breath work, our approach to prāṇāyāma has nothing to do with breath in the literal sense, at all. It is a purer, more essential approach. We sometimes also call this energy-based prāṇāyāma. It is based on the pulsations of our whole energy field, rather than on the pulsations of the heart center.
